The Name & Our History
The Fidel Strub Forum was founded on a singular premise: Dignity is Not Optional. Over years of high-level advocacy, it became clear that speeches and awareness were not enough to dismantle deeply ingrained ‘saviour narratives’ within global health and international aid. A strict, enforceable standard was required to validate whether institutions were actually aligning with the people they claimed to serve.
This necessity birthed the Survivor Alignment Index (SAI) and, subsequently, a dedicated entity to wield it. We chose the name ALETHEIA TUTELA to reflect this unyielding mandate.
Aletheia (ἀλήθεια) is the ancient Greek concept of truth; specifically the active unconcealment or bringing what is hidden into the light.
Tutela is the Latin term for guardianship, protection, and safekeeping.
Together, ALETHEIA TUTELA stands for the Guardianship of Unconcealed Truth. We exist to protect donor trust and ensure that survivors remain the sovereign protagonists of their own recovery.
